I have new stuff

I have new bracelets, but I don't have pictures yet. I stitched five bracelets this week. Two have already found new homes. : ) I have been sitting a lot this week--my doctor found a blood clot in my leg this week. I went to see the doctor after school on Wednesday; my leg has been really swollen and red and warm to the touch. He sent me for an ultrasound on my leg. The ultrasound showed that I have a clot in my leg. My guess is that it is somehow related to my fall on Thanksgiving day. Most of the scabs are gone, but I still have bruises. Bye for now.

Update

I haven't fallen off the planet, October was a very busy month. MLG had its all member show during the month we also had Art in the Bag and Octoberfest. I have new items but I haven't taken any pictures of the new stuff. Hope to post some new stuff soon.

Frog Pond Pendant

Finally something new. This is a piece of art that combines the talents of Frank Daharsh, Jodie Marshall, and me. Frank made the fused piece at the top of the pendant. Jodie made the frog cab for the bottom part of the pendant. I did the bead work that tied those two pieces together. Enjoy.

Update on stuff

I have already started on my big project for next year's Nebraska State Fair. Unfortunately, pictures won't be available for a long time. This project is the most massive one I have ever taken on and I am committed to completing it. I can tell you that it involves more than one piece. Yes, I know I am being cryptic. : )

Class Today

I took a class today on Precious Metal Clay. I had a really good time. I made three pieces--a pair of earrings and two pendants with garnets set in the clay. I will take pictures when I get my stuff so that you can see them also.

Purse for Art in the Bag

Here is the completed purse for the auction. It has two large inside pockets. A matching coin purse is included. The fasteners on the purse make it very secure and it shouldn't come open by accident. I crocheted the purse and the strap was made with a spool knitter. I have some pictures to include but it is not letting me post them this morning. I will try to add the pictures later.

Art in the Bag

I have been working on my bag for Art in the Bag. Check out the Art in the Bag blog. The link is under Friends & More. We are looking for more artists to make bags. Their is information on the Art in the Bag blog. The money made from the auction is going for cancer research. I have two close friends with cancer--one has ovarian cancer and the other is a 3 year child with AML a type of leukemia that usually strikes people in their 60s.

I have a new bracelet but I have to get a picture of it for the blog. Thanks, M

New Pictures

Well, I finally had some time to bead. I went to a friend's house and I made two bracelets (one stayed there) and then I started another one that I have since finished. Since there are more storms headed this way, I won't be online long. : )

Just News

Well, I have been very busy at school for a while now and I don't have any new pretties to post. But, I do have news--there is a movie being filmed in Plattsmouth and Omaha. Well, I emailed them to see if they would like to use some of my jewelry in the movie. Last Friday after school I went to the film site of the day and met with the wardrobe supervisor and let him pick out some pieces to use in the movie. So, I am actually going to have my jewelry on the big screen. Feel free to check out the movie website. I have a link under my friends & more link. April Showers is the name of the movie and I am also going to be an extra in the movie.

Exciting News

Okay, I know I haven't had any pretties to show for awhile but I have some future posts planned. I get to take my first ever seed bead class this weekend. Cynthia Rutledge is coming to Lincoln and I am taking the workshop "Romancing the Lariat." While she is here I am buying some other kits and I can't wait for Saturday morning. : )

I have been very busy this spring with school. I have completed a couple online classes and been reading a lot of books for school. I really hope that I get to bead some this summer. Thanks for being patient.

Peyote Cuff

I have had this pattern in my head for a while and I finally got it down on paper. I used peyote graph paper to plan out the pattern and to have a visual copy of the colors I wanted to use. Hope you enjoy!

This is a bracelet that I have been working on for a couple of days. I am pretty sure the cabochon is a created opal. Lots of fire. Enjoy!

Labradorite Cabochon Bracelet

I had this all done except for the clasp yesterday. So I have to post it today. I am a big fan of labradorite and I have never seen the purple/pink color in a cab before. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Coral Anemone and others

First is the coral anemone pendant that I made yesterday. I really like the way this turned out. Let me know what you think.

Next is a "Jitterbug" bracelet from a kit offered by Cathy Collison. I changed the bracelet and used Swarovski buttons rather than the 6 mm fire polish rounds.

Finally, I have a bracelet that I call Fire Dragon's Eye. I have two images of the bracelet. One of the whole bracelet and a close-up of the eye.
