New earring prototype

My great-nephew, Brayden, is the photogenic young man in the first two pictures. Here is a new kind of earring that I am hoping to make more of for the holidays.

Pictures

I have been very busy lately. I got to make a lot of beaded beads this weekend. I also took a class from Jodie and I have pictures from that as well. Lots of eye candy.

New stuff

Finally, I have a chance to upload new pictures. I have a picture of some candle holders for the wedding in September and the top and bottom of a bracelet based on Laura Shea's design in a recent Bead & Button magazine.

I had this idea and here are the pictures of the results. 10 rivolis are set in the beaded bead.

Quintuple Dodecahedron

Here is a crystal beaded dodecahedron. They are stacked with the smallest on the inside and the largest on the outside. The smallest one has one bead on each side and the largest has 5 beads on each side. The smallest one requires 30 beads and the largest requires 150.

Bowl of Dodecahedrons

These are a bunch of the dodecahedrons I made for a recent show.

Art in the Yard

A show at the Parmele House B & B in Plattsmouth, NE tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. That is what I have been getting ready for lately. I have been making enough dodecahedrons to fill a wooden bowl. Dodecahedrons are a 12-sided three-dimensional figure. Each side is the shape of a pentagon and each one takes at least 30 beads. I have been making them in all sizes, shapes and colors. I have made a few "double" dodecahedrons where there is a little dodecahedron inside of a larger dodecahedron. Last night after school got over for the summer, I made a quintuplet dodecahedron. I am hoping to take pictures tomorrow at the show to share with everyone. Thanks!

Frog Update

The frog has one cabochon sewn on. I started with red beads and each row is a different color--I got all the way to blue in the rainbow. I need to get purple 15s so I can do one more row. The frog is going to use all the colors of the rainbow, but I am going to make circles of one color at a time. Similar to the circles on Lola (purple, green, and orange). Stay tuned for more updates. : )

I Have a Plan

I have a plan for the frog design. Now that I have a direction, I am sure it won't take me long to get the frog finished. I still don't have a bead sewn on the frog. : )

The Frog

Still looks the same as it did two weeks ago. I did get a double strand mother's bracelet done over the weekend. I also worked on organizing my purchases from the Omaha Bead Bazaar. I am tired of not having any energy when the school day is over. I have been falling asleep way earlier than normal (any where from 4 in the afternoon to 8 in the evening).

Yahtzee Anyone

This was my first 3-dimensional piece. I actually have eight dice inside of the die that I made using right angle weave.

Rhumba Rainbow

Well, I finished the Rhumba bracelet. There are 35 discs in the bracelet with 4 mm Swarovski helix AB crystals between each one. Enjoy!

Side Tracked

I just picked up the new Beadwork magazine and got distracted by the Rhumba bracelet by Jamie Hogsett. So I have been making circular peyote disks in rainbow colors. Soon I will have pictures.

Thanks!

I haven't beaded anything in a week. : ( I hope to get some beading done on Sunday. Thanks, Jodie for nominating my blog!

Next beaded project

I found a bean bag pattern for a frog. Yes, I am sure that a lot of you could predict that I would bead a frog. So far I have the eyes glued on and one dichro cabochon glued on--no beads on it yet.

Here are a couple of pictures of the three dolls/goddesses that I have finished so far.

Mermaid update

Well, Nerissa is finished. I have to get some good lighting to take pictures to post. She is absolutely incredible and I can't believe how many hours I spent doing her hair.

A Mermaid in the Making

I have started a new doll. Her name is Nerissa and she is guiding me with ideas for how she wants to look. : ) She is all pink and she is going to be a wild mermaid when she is done. I am trying new techniques on this doll and I think you will like the way she looks. I actually drew the pattern for this doll myself and sewed her. It was a simple mermaid pattern that the embellishments are going to make her awesome. Pictures will follow, eventually.

Completed Starfish

I finished the starfish last night. Her name is Stella (Latin for starlike). I fringed the entire seam with 4 mm cubes and miracle beads. The fringe alone took 16 feet of Fireline. The fringe was done to tie the front and back color themes to each other. The top was lime green and turquoise and the bottom was purple and turquoise. Therefore the fringe was lime green miracle beads, purple miracle beads, turquoise cubes and those were all topped with a bright lime green seed bead.

Starfish

This is the starfish so far. I have been letting my mind figure out what to do next.

Pictures

These pictures don't do the fabrics justice. They are so vibrant and full of color.

Pictures to Follow

I have some new fabric that I picked up recently. I have pictures of that and the new form that I am beading around (starfish goddess).

My first beaded doll

This is Lola. She is my first beaded doll. She is a teacher so she has an eye on the back of her head. I finally have pictures to share.

Chihuly

This is from the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha. I took this picture when the art club was there for Celebrating Creativity.

Still no pictures

I am back from my winter break. The last month has been a little crazy. My mom has been in and out of the hospital twice and I ended up in the ER again for a really bad stomach flu. I am in need of inspiration and time to bead. Hopefully, I will get some pictures of some of my new stuff posted soon.
